Steve Nowland’s passion for photography grew out of his desire to work in a medium that constantly challenged him and because of his love for the still image. He got his first taste of that passion while on staff at the Rocky Mountain Collegian, the school newspaper at Colorado State University, and has never looked back since. Nowland’s other passion is travel, there too, photography has been a catalyst to see and explore the world. It has taken him to Cuba to document amateur Cuban boxing, to the south of France and Italy to photograph their coastal regions and to China, to photograph the dynamic and booming cultural changes that are reshaping the country.
